Huron Township Police say a man died trying to protect his son on Sunday evening.
Director of Public Safety Everette Robbins says there had been an ongoing disagreement between a group of teens and the man’s son. On Sunday evening four young men between the ages of 18 and 19 showed up at his home in the Huron Estates manufactured home neighborhood.
When the dispute started to turn violent, 49-year-old Bobby Briscoe tried to step in and break it up. Police say an 18-year-old from Taylor pulled out a knife and stabbed him, killing him.
“He had his whole life in front of him,” said Everette. “He obviously was concerned for his kids. He was out there protecting his kids. Something really needless made a lot of people lose their father today, and husband as well.”
Briscoe leaves behind a wife and five children.
The young man police say stabbed him took off from the scene. He was arrested during a traffic stop near his home in Taylor. He is expected to be arraigned on Tuesday.
