Jet's Pizza taking precautions after a series of robberies at metro Detroit locations

Police are searching for suspects in a series of robberies at Jet’s Pizzas across metro Detroit.

The pizza chain says its stores have been hit not once, not twice but 15 times in the past month - all by the same suspects.

"In and out pretty quick just looking for money or a safe if possible," says Justin McCarty. “They're literally coming in and getting in and out of the store within a couple of minutes."

McCarty says the thieves knowledge of the stores' layouts has raised the theory that one or more of them may have worked for Jet's.

"It's definitely a little bit strange how they're constantly going after Jet's Pizzas and everything,” he says. “It's a little bit odd in a way and it's pretty despicable and it makes you wonder how these people seem to be knowing what they're doing when they go inside."

The chain is taking action to keep their stores from being hit again, putting GPS trackers in all of its safes, bolting the safes to the floor, and installing full length hinge guards on back doors.

"We're taking every precaution we can to insure that everybody's safe," he says.
