Champp's on Haggerty Road in Livonia is now dark - shut down without warning to customers over the weekend.
Carol McCririe showed up to meet a friend only to find the doors locked, leading to speculation on why.
She told us, "Health department shut them down? They're not making any money? I don't know. It doesn't make any sense."
Several other restaurants have shut down as well across the country.
A former manager, sad about closing, took to Facebook over the weekend, saying changes in ownership, direction, and focus were factors. She also wrote the parent company filed for bankruptcy for the 2nd time in two and a half years.
The former manager went on to say the agreement was only for a certain amount of stores, and this was an expensive location.
The Livonia Champp's opened its doors in March of 1998.
