UPDATE: Police say they have located the man and that there is no criminal issue or danger.

Original story below

The Livonia school district is warning parents about a stranger danger incident near Six Mile and Newburgh.

Thursday morning before school, right around the corner from Holmes Elementary on Newburgh two female students say they became nervous after it appeared someone was following them.

They noticed the man behind them walking on Munger Court and Bristol.

The two girls then ran inside Holmes Elementary and told school officials, who then called police.

The man is described as being about 6’ tall, wearing a yellow and orange construction vest over a winter coat with gray sweatpants.

They also reported the man was wearing a ski mask.

The two girls say the stranger did not try to speak to them. School officials want parents in the district and elsewhere to use this as an opportunity to speak to your kids about what to do:

  • Don't speak to strangers.
  • Run if you feel frightened, like these girls did
  • And of course - make a police report
