The man charged for shooting a 17-year-old girl he met online appeared in court on Thursday.
Matthew Grant, 31, is charged with several crimes, including two counts of assault with intent to commit murder.
Investigators say Grant met the 17-year-old girl online and then met in person near the Del Taco in Dearborn Heights on May 18.
When they met, Grant got out of his car gave the teen $100, then got back in his own vehicle. It's not clear what happened inside the car, but things took a turn for the worse.
The teen tells police she left, drove to a different location to pick up her boyfriend, and then they realized Grant was following them.
When the two got to Redford, Grant pulled alongside them and fired two shots, hitting her once.
Grant is still locked up on $1 million bond.
