Police in Riverview are investigating after someone was spotted throwing cats from car on a busy road.
One of them was found dead.
Animal lovers, like Deborah Cooper, are outraged.
She said, "I think that's horrible. I have cats of my own. That's terrible."
Someone was seen throwing cats from a car window while driving down King Road.
It happened last Friday near Grange Road.
Witnesses told police they saw the cats being thrown from a blue car around 4:30pm.
When police arrived, they found one of the cats dead in the road.
Kaitlyn Wilkins lives nearby.
"Just take them to the Humane Society," she said. "Don't be so cruel to animals."
Witnesses did not get a good look at the driver or car.
Cooper said, "There's so many animal shelters and there is so many rescues in the Downriver area. There is absolutely no reason to that."
King Road is a busy street and many folks say it's hard for cats to survive, even if they landed on their feet.
"No they would end up in the road and they would end up getting hurt," Cooper added. "Not only that, you have hawks. They can end up as hawk food."
Police have a vague description of the vehicle but they continue to investigate the incident.
