Redford man charged with shooting son on Father's Day

Howard Lowry of Redford stood before a judge on June 22 to learn the charges he will face after allegedly shooting at his son.

The shooting took place on Father’s Day in Redford Township at Lowry’s home.

Police say after Lowry’s 23-year-old son attempted to stop him from beating his 16-year-old son, a fight broke out between the two and led to the shooting. 

Lowry faces four felonies and one misdemeanor, including two counts of assault with intent to murder. Both of these carry possible life in prison sentences.

Additional charged include felony firearm, felon in possession of a firearm and a charge of child abuse.
