Sketch of suspect released in armed robbery, sexual assault and car theft at Westland business

Westland police have released a sketch of the suspect in an armed robbery, sexual assault and car theft last week.

According to police, it happened at a business in the area of Wayne Rd. and Palmer Rd. around 3:30 p.m. on Sept. 9.

The suspect went into the business and threatened an employee with a weapon, demanding money. After getting the money, he allegedly sexually assaulted the victim, then stole her car. Her car was later recovered.

The suspect is described as a black male, between 6-feet and 6-feet-2-inches tall weighing 250-300 pounds. He had a scruffy beard, black t-shirt, gray gym shorts and a black do-rag cloth over his head.
