With the holidays in full swing, a new study is taking a look at the most popular holiday candy in every state, and the most popular holiday candy in Michigan is similar to the state's favorite Halloween candy.

According to CandyStore.com, Reindeer Corn is the most popular candy in the state of Michigan, followed by Reese's Pieces and M&M's.

"Michigan is part of the corn Belt, and it loves the corn. The foot team color is 'Maize.' Their quarterback's name is O'Korn. Candy corn is their #1 Halloween candy. They even genetically modify their sweet corn to increase the sugar content from 9% to 35%," CandyStore.com rote. "They just LOVE the corn. No surprise, Michigan's favorite candy during the holiday season: Reindeer corn."

To determine this, CandyStore.com conducted a survey of over 50,000 candystore.com customers to find out, and also checked with major candy manufacturers.

If you're like me and you've never heard of Reindeer Corn, the candystore.com website describes it a "festive take on this classic fall candy."

"The chewy texture and sweet taste makes Christmas candy corn a fun confection for parties and gatherings," the description reads.

According to candystore.com, 1.76 billion candy canes are produced every year for the holiday season, to go with the 150 million chocolate santas.

Michigan isn't the only state that features reindeer corn as the top holiday candy. According to the report, both Alabama and Utah also love their reindeer corn.
