MDOT officials announced that they are going to delay repairs of the crumbling overpass at I-96 and Flint Road until next summer.
The overpass was originally supposed to be repaired in August.
More than 93,000 cars travel under it per day.
It was built more than 50 years ago and has not been replaced since.
