MADISON HEIGHTS (WXYZ) — Stephenson Highway from 12 to 14 mile road will be repaved beginning the week of May 13, according Madison Heights city officials.
The repaving of both the northbound and southbound sides of Stephenson Highway is expected to be completed in 14 weeks, weather permitting.
This is a federally funded project.
The road will be down to one lane going in each direction as construction is underway. There will be access to businesses along Stephenson Highway during construction.
There will be increased traffic congestion on area roadways due to this project, particularly considering the adjacent I-75 construction. Officials recommends that drivers seek alternate routes if possible.
