(WXYZ) — Michigan has the largest freshwater coastline in the United States, and a new report found that we also have the best beach town in the United States.
The report from WalletHub found Traverse City is the beach beach town to live in for lakes. The report took into several dimensions, including affordability, weather, safety, economy, education & health and quality of life.
Traverse City came in at No. 11 for affordability, No. 14 or weather, No. 12 for safety, No. 9 for economy, No. 14 for education and health and No. 1 for quality of life.
Michigan had several other cities on the list of best beach towns to live in. Holland came in at No. 4, Alpena at No. 18 and Port Huron at No. 31.
Naples, Fla. ame in as the best beach town to live in for oceans, followed by Lahaina, Hawaii, Newport Beach, Calif., Carlsbad, Calif. and Boca Raton, Fla.
