Google and Ford are teaming up to build self-driving cars, according to a report from Yahoo! Autos.
Yahoo cites "three sources familiar with the plans" --and indicates that an official announcement will be made by Ford at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas in January.
But, the deal reportedly is not exclusive to Ford as Google is in talks with other automakers about their self-driving systems.
Ford officials would not confirm any details with 7 Action News.
The automaker has proved to not shy away from new technology. Ford announced today that it filed a record number of patents in 2015. Ford says employees submitted nearly 6,000 inventions for patent consideration this year.
