Detroit Free Press columnist and author Mitch Albom has signed to write a movie screenplay about NHL player John Scott, according to reports from Deadline Hollywood and the Detroit Free Press.
Scott made national headlines after fans voted him into the NHL's All Star-game as a captain even though he only scored five goals in 285 career games.
Despite reports surfacing of the NHL trying to ban him from the game, Scott ended up having the last laugh. The journeyman tough guy took MVP honors after helping Team Pacific win the four-team, 3-on-3 tournament in January.
Deadline Hollywood reports that Mandalay Sports Media has secured the life-story rights to Scott.
