Bill Schuette named Lisa Posthumus Lyons as his lieutenant governor for the November gubernatorial election.

Lyons is the current Kent County clerk and served three terms in the Michigan House of Representatives from 2011 through 2016.

She is the daughter of Dick Posthumus, who is chief of staff to current Governor Rick Snyder and served as lieutenant governor to John Engler from 1999 to 2002.

"Lisa is experienced and knows the dynamics of the legislature," Schuette said.

"I'm honored to be on this ticket," Lyons said.
