River Rouge, Detroit murder suspect Kenyel Brown has died

(WXYZ) — Accused killer Kenyel Brown, who has been charged in connection with two River Rouge murders and a non-fatal shooting, has died according to 7 Action News sources.

Brown was apprehended by multiple law enforcement agencies on Feb. 24 in connection to six killings across metro Detroit. During the pursuit, police say Brown attempted suicide by shooting himself in the head. He's had been at a local hospital listed in grave condition.

The two murders that Brown has been charged with occurred Feb. 2 in the 500 block of Beechwood in RIver Rouge. Brown allegedly shot three people at the home, killing two and injuring one.

He had been charged with two counts of first-degree premeditated murder, one count of assault with intent to murder, one count of assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder, one count of felon in possession of a firearm, and five counts of felony firearm.

In addition to the charges, the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office also received a warrant request from Detroit police for Brown in relation to a Feb. 22 incident that happened on Minnesota Street and an incident on Feb. 20 on Eight Mile Road, both in the city of Detroit. The warrant was under review for the Feb. 22 incident, while the warrant for the Feb. 20 incident was returned with a request for further investigation, according to the prosecutor's office.
