Road worker hit on M-25 in St. Clair County dies from injuries

ST. CLAIR CO., Mich. (WXYZ) - A road worker who was struck by a vehicle on Tuesday, July 31 in St. Clair County has died.
The victim, 44-year-old Julian Perez, of Indianapolis, was injured in a vehicle crash while working along M-25, north of Carrigan Road in Fort Gratiot Township Tuesday afternoon.
When officers and medics arrived, they found Perez unresponsive and transported him to McLaren Port Huron Hospital, then later to MaLaren Macomb Hospital.
According to a news release, a 28-year-old woman from Marlette was driving northbound on M-25 through a construction zone when she struck the road worker. Also inside the woman's vehicle were her husband and two young children. None of them were injured.
The St. Clair County Sheriff's Office says this is an ongoing investigation and no charges have been filed.
