The Rochester Police Department rescued a turtle in distress Monday.
They said they noticed a lot of splashing in the pond next to the police department and found a large distressed turtle that was caught in a fishing line.
Police said the line was attached to a lure that was hooked to a rock.
The turtle was cut free and sent on his way.
Police reminded residents to take care when fishing at the pond.
