ROCHESTER, Mich. (WXYZ) — A Rochester Community Schools middle school basketball coach was arrested for an alleged incident unrelated to the school, its students or other staff. The coach was immediately fired from his position at the school, the district said Monday.

The former employee's name has not been released. He worked at Van Hoosen as a seventh-grade boys basketball coach.

"Rochester Community Schools continues to work collaboratively with the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office and will not speculate during an ongoing investigation. Any questions regarding this case should be directed to the proper law enforcement authorities," the school said in a statement.

The incident remains under investigation.
