An estimated 2,000 tires illegally dumped around Detroit and the man responsible for the dumping is admitting to his dirty deeds and exposing why he did it.

The tire dumper claims he was working with Hamtramck Police as a confidential informant on an unrelated investigation when a tire shop requested he dispose of the tires.

7 Action News is not naming the confidential informant, but he says he was told by two Hamtramck detectives to not only pick up the tires, but they even provided a police van for the job.

With the tires loaded up, he says the detectives ordered him to illegally dump the tires in Detroit.
