Roof collapses as crews battle house fire in Grosse Pointe Shores

GROSSE POINTE SHORES, Mich. (WXYZ) — Fire crews battled flames that ravaged a home in Grosse Pointe Shores Saturday morning.

The fire broke out on Roslyn. Neighbors tell 7 Action News they believe everyone inside the home was able to get out. At one point, the roof collapsed in.

"It's utter devastation...they were devastated, just devastated," said one man at the scene who grew up in the home, but moved out more than 30 years ago.

Grosse Pointe Shore DPS says residents in the area of Roslyn and Greenbriar "may experience discolored water due to to two separate firefighting scenes. Please refrain from use of water until the scenes are clear."

No word yet on what started the fire.
