When you pass by Catholic Churches on a Friday during lent, you can smell delicious fish frying!

Saint Francis D'Assisi in Detroit has been cooking up their fish fry for decades and it's popular thanks to a secret ingredient.

The sale helps keep the church going. Only a handful of people have the recipe for the fish fry.

There are only three more Fridays to go during Lent. The most popular fish fry day is Good Friday.

For $9.99 you get fried fish, fries, coleslaw, pop and cake.

The fish fry takes place from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

St. Francis Church is one of the two worship sites of the St. Francis D'Assisi - St. Hedwig Parish.
