(WXYZ) — A photo released over the weekend from the National Weather Service shows smoke from the California wildfires stretching all the way to Michigan.
The photo from the Weather Prediction Center came at 5 p.m. Saturday and shows smoke in the mid-to-upper levels of the atmosphere stretching from southern California and moving east and north to Michigan.
Here is a visible satellite image valid at 2pm PDT showing the vast extent of the wildfire smoke. The area in the orange contour is smoke in the mid-upper levels of the atmosphere that has reached as far east as Michigan! A photo from AirNow.gov also shows the smoke stretching to Michigan.
