There are some major new developments today regarding the Detroit Public Schools Community District.
Starting next summer, schools under the Education Achievement Authority's control will move back under the power of the district.
Right now, 14 schools are controlled by the EAA which is run by the state.
On July 1 of next year, those schools will then be controlled by DPSCD.
We're told all EAA educators will be given opportunities for new jobs.
The state also has to pay more than $2 million to the district over the course of one academic year.
Leaders from both sides are still hammering out the final details. That's expected to take a few weeks.
