Laser razor raises more than $3M on Kickstarter

Posted

It’s the razor raising big bucks on Kickstarter.

And it's safe to say that the internet is rooting for the Skarp team.

Creators of the Skarp Laser Razor say it’s the first ever razor powered by a laser. They claim Skarp will give users an incredibly close shave irritation free.

Skarp doesn’t even require any water. It’s powered by a small laser that cuts through the hair.

Creators say the wavelength they use doesn’t emit UV—and it doesn’t enter the skin, only the hair.

The Kickstarter fundraiser goal was $160,000. Well, they knocked that out of the park, raising more than $3 million.

After many comments about seeing proof, the team posted a video of their working prototype they built in the lab with limited resources.

They say the money will help create a production model using a high precision manufactured fiber.

Early backers were able to preorder one for about $90 with an estimated delivery for March.
