SYLVAN TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) — Authorities have suspended the search for a 15-year-old boy who fell through ice in the Muskegon River in the northern Lower Peninsula.
Dylan Shaw of Evart fell into the river with two more teens Thursday, but he was the only one who didn't get to shore.
Osceola County Sheriff Justin Halladay says searchers punched holes in the ice and used sonar equipment. But there's been no sign of Shaw's body. The site is in Sylvan Township, 85 miles north of Grand Rapids.
The search is suspended until weather and river conditions change. The Evart fire department thanked the public on Facebook for food, hot chocolate and hand warmers. Nearly 100 people have been part of the search.
