A 34-year-old man has been charged in the June 2017 murder of Egypt Covington in Van Buren Township.
Some of Egypt's relatives have been critical of the investigation that for so long had only been in the hands of Van Buren Township police and they were eager to see State Police approach the case with a fresh set of eyes in hopes that an arrest would be made sooner.
On Nov. 5, investigators announced that two people had been arrested in connection to the 2017 murder.
Timothy Moore was arraigned from Toledo, Ohio Sunday afternoon, on one count of homicide in the 27-year-old's death, according to Michigan State Police.
MSP says the investigation continues to change rapidly and detectives are continuing to follow up on leads generated from evidence in the case.
