DETROIT (WXYZ) — The Detroit Free Press Film Festival and the Downtown Detroit Partnership are teaming up to give people a free screening of "The Russian Five" documentary this week.
The documentary will show on Thursday, Aug. 22 at Campus Martius Park outside. It will also feature a special appearance from Darren McCarty, with the showing starting at 8 p.m.
Attendees are welcome to bring blankets or chairs for use on the Campus Martius lawn. Alcohol is available for purchase for those 21 and up, and there will be merchandise available for purchase.
The documentary, which premiered at the Freep Film Festival in 2018, has played in 90 theaters across 19 states so far.
