7 people shot in 5 separate incidents overnight in Detroit

DETROIT (WXYZ) — Five shootings were reported overnight in Detroit Friday, including one shooting that killed an 18-year-old.

The first was a nonfatal shooting that happened at 11 p.m. Thursday on East McNichols and Laing. The victim said she was shot in that area and arrived to a local hospital in a white Mercedes with the vehicle riddled with bullet holes. Police say it's not clear if she drove herself to the hospital or if another person drove. She is in stable condition.

The fatal shooting was around 12:07 a.m. on Friday in the 11900 block of Laing. Police say an 18-year-old man and 22-year-old man were sitting inside a Nissan Pathfinder when an unknown vehicle drove by and someone inside starting shooting, wounding the two victims. The 18-year-old died at the hospital and the 22-year-old is listed in stable condition.

Police say the third shooting occurred in the 8200 block of Edgewood at 12:45 a.m. Friday. Police say the victim, a 25-year-old man, was with several other people filming a music video when someone started firing shots. The victim did not see the shooter. He is in stable condition.

A second victim, a 30-year-old man, was found at a local hospital. He is in critical condition.

The fourth shooting was at 1:50 a.m. Friday in the 11400 block of Broadstreet. Police say the victim, a 42-year-old man was arguing with the perpetrator about a woman. The suspect, a man in his 40s, had a handgun and shot the victim. Police say the suspect then fled the scene. The victim is in stable condition.

Police say the fifth shooting occurred in the area of W. 7 Mile Road and Lahser around 1:50 a.m. Friday. The victim, a 20-year-old woman, was at a block party when two men started fighting. Police say someone started firing shots and the victim was hit. She is in stable condition.
