DEARBORN HEIGHTS, Mich. (WXYZ) — A woman lost all her Thanksgiving food after a fire erupted in her home Thursday.
The woman posted to social media that Dearborn Heights firefighters had responded to her kitchen fire earlier Thursday morning.
Crews were able to put out the flames but the damage was done – she'd lost her Thanksgiving meal but was grateful to still be alive.
What fire crews did next would make her turkey day one to remember.
"...they turned around after clearing the house of smoke and came back with a turkey, some pies, cash, and other food items for my family," she wrote on Facebook. "I really wish they could be acknowledged for their hard work and kind hearts."
