SOUTHFIELD, Mich. (WXYZ) — Michigan State Police are investigating another shooting on metro Detroit roads.
According to police, troopers were dispatched to northbound M-39 just north 8 Mile in Southfield for a report of a crash.
After investigating, police say a shooting happened in Detroit, possibly on 7 Mile near M-39.
MSP said after being shot, the victim fled the scene, entered northbound M-39 and came to a stop blocking the left lane of the freeway just north of 8 Mile.
Another vehicle that was not involved in the shooting rear-ended the victim's vehicle.
Police say the shooting victim fled the crash scene but was later located by Southfield police. Their condition is not known.
The highway was closed for a couple of hours as police towed both vehicles.
