RAY, Mich. (WXYZ) — Southeast Michigan's first commercial vineyard is now open for business!
More than 500 people attended Youngblood Vineyard's grand opening this past weekend.
The vineyard is also the first of its kind located in northern Macomb County, nestled on the Wolcott Mills Metropark property that has been family owned and operated since 1945, owners say.
After three years of growing grapes on the 25-acre vineyard, Youngblood Vineyard Tasting Pavilion is now open to the public.
“What is happening here is something very unique to the area. Opening the first commercial vineyard in southeast Michigan is a win for the entire region” owner Jessica Youngblood said. “People drove over three hours just to come see and experience our 100% estate grown wine and 25-acre vineyard.”
The Pavilion is located on Ray Center Road. It will be open every weekend – Saturday, noon to 9 p.m. and Sunday, noon to 7 p.m. Friday will be reserved for private events or groups of 20 or more.
