(WXYZ) — A Southfield woman is facing charges after a car crash that killed a Detroit woman.
On Dec. 4, 40-year-old Najla Mateen was struck by a vehicle in the area of West McNichols Road and Telegraph Road in Redford. She was pronounced deceased at the scene, prosecutors say.
Chirin Kudeimati, 48, was arrested for the incident. Police say she allegedly struck the victim, who was in a crosswalk, disregarded the system and fled the scene.
She has been charged with Reckless Driving Causing Death and Failure to Stop at the Scene of an Accident Causing Death.
