St. Clair Shores dentists participating in Halloween Candy Buy Back

Halloween Candy Buy Backs have become an annual event in various part of the country, including here in Michigan.

Dentists buy Halloween candy from local kids, then ship the candy overseas to our Military in care packages prepared by Operation Gratitude.
Dr. P. Steven Wainess, a family and cosmetic dentist who's been a part of the St. Clair Shores business community for over 25 years, will join in on Nov. 6th for his 6th annual Candy Buy Back event.  Cash for your Halloween stash!  Dr. Wainess will pay $1 per lb. for trick or treaters goodies.  Last years event landed a record amount of 925lbs. of candy on Operation Gratitude's doorstep.  That's equivalent to 140,600 tootsie rolls.
The event kicks off at 1:00pm and runs to 5:00pm with numerous activities for both kids and adults to enjoy.
Dr. Wainess goes a step further than most.  Not only will kids be exchanging candy for dollars, they'll be busy writing letters to soldiers for a chance to win a pizza party for their classroom, compliments of Dr. Wainess.
