"It is a tough process, but I'm moving forward," said Sean English. "Day by day, I'm always getting better."

English, the 17-year-old Good Samaritan who helped victims of the April I-96 crash, spoke at a press conference with his family at Henry Ford Hospital today.

He talked about his recovery process and thanked supporters.

"The amount of support that I got really pushed me in physical therapy," he said.

The University of Detroit Jesuit High School student ended up having part of his foot amputated after he was injured when another driver lost control and slammed into the crash site where English was trying to help victims.

English got emotional at the press conference talking about the trooper who put a tourniquet on his leg at the scene.

"He saved my life and I am so very grateful for that," he said.

The other Good Samaritan who stopped to help, Dr. Cynthia Ray, died from injuries sustained in that second accident.
