(WXYZ) — Officials in Governor Gretchen Whitmer's office have notified their departments that there will not be a government shutdown next week and that they should plan on reporting to work as scheduled.
State employees were notified in letters from their department heads.
The notifications come after the state legislature sent the budget to the governor for her signature.
One thing not settled by the budget fight is spending to repair the roads. While the legislature has sent a transportation funding bill to Governor Whitmer, both sides agreed to table the discussion of funding to fix the roads until after a shutdown was averted.
