(WXYZ) — Michigan State Police are investigating a potential road rage shooting that happened early Wednesday on westbound I-94 in Detroit.

A man and a woman were traveling westbound on I-94 when they got into a confrontation with a man inside a blue minivan, according to a preliminary investigation. The driver of the minivan allegedly reached across the passenger seat of his vehicle and fired multiple shots from a handgun toward the victim's, only hitting the car.

No one was injured, police say. That investigation is ongoing.

A second incident initially thought to be a freeway shooting on I-96 near Southfield that happened around 10 a.m. was later found to be an unknown object from the roadway, which caused the driver's window to shatter. Police say that investigation has closed.
