ARMADA, Mich. (WXYZ) — A student has been removed from Armada Middle School after a social media account threatened a staff member.
In a letter to parents, school officials stated one of their "staff members had been receiving harassing messages that turned into threatening messages via a social media platform created by a fake account."
Following an investigation, the Macomb County Sheriff's Office identified the person responsible for sending the threats as a current student from Armada Middle School. The student was removed from the campus, officials say.
"At no time during this situation were any of our students in danger. The district and the legal authorities will work through this matter," said the superintendent in the letter to parents.
