(WXYZ) — Supino Pizzeria, known for serving up delicious New York-style pies in Eastern Market, announced it is opening its second location on Wednesday.

The location along Woodward Ave. near Grand Blvd. is in Detroit's New Center neighborhood.

"I'm definitely nervous," Owner David Mancini said. "Opening a restaurant is a nerve-wracking thing."

Supino's new location is in a spot that is becoming more popular for foodies.

"Being a restaurant near all these other restaurants that are very different restaurants was really attractive to me," Mancini said.

Right now, Supino is carry-out only; Mancini said they are successfully selling pizzas but are hurting in their bar sales.

However, he's optimistic that he made the right move opening up the second location.

He also said tips have been really helpful; he says people have been very generous and the money is shared with the whole staff, minus him and managers.

According to a post on Instagram, the location will be open for carry-out only to start. You can also get slices.

The website shows the New Center location will be open 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday-Saturday and closed on Sunday.
