Our mobile devices are really becoming an extension of ourselves. With each passing year, it becomes harder to resist all of those apps that help make our lives a little easier.
So, how did consumers use apps for commerce in 2015? According to a new survey commissioned by Verizon Wireless, car ride apps and banking apps were the stars last year.
The findings from a survey of the mobile commerce habits of 1,000 people reveal that more than half of us made a mobile banking transaction using an app last year— with 23 percent of smartphone users trying it out for the first time.
Now, the fastest growing category in the trends survey was the usage of car ride and taxi apps.
The number of people using an app for a ride more than doubled from 2014. Last year, one in five users tapped away at their smartphone to order a lift to their desired destination.
And buying a product from your smartphone is becoming the norm.
Last year, 56 percent of people used their smartphone to make a purchase.
