SHELBY TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WXYZ) — A suspect faces several felony charges after shooting at another driver at an apartment complex in Shelby Township Saturday.

Around 4:25 a.m., Shelby Township police officers were dispatched to Fox Lane Apartment complex located off Auburn Road on reports of several people arguing in the street.

While officers were en route, the call was upgraded to shots fired after one vehicle was seen striking another. According to the Shelby Township Police Department, one of the two female drivers involved then reportedly pulled out a gun and shot several rounds toward the other driver.

The victim then tried to drive away before losing control, jumping a curb in the parking area and nearly striking a tree. Police say the vehicle finally came to a stop in front of one of the apartment buildings, where it caught fire.

The officers arrived and immediately detained all of the people involved. The vehicle fire was put out, and there were no injuries.

A gun was recovered and the suspect arrested, police say.

The suspect faces several felony charges, including attempted murder, felony firearm and carrying a concealed weapon.
