Suspect arrested after deadly shooting in Sterling Heights

STERLING HEIGHTS (WXYZ) — A man in his 30s is dead and a suspect has been arrested after shots were fired in Sterling Heights Saturday night.

The shooting happened just after 9 p.m. on Saturday, June 13, in the 38000 block of Mound Road. When officers arrived on the scene they found a man in his 30s dead from multiple gunshot wounds.

By Sunday morning, officers with the Sterling Heights Police Department announced an arrest in the case.

"The Sterling Heights Police Department takes pride in the safety within our community and we strive to keep Sterling Heights one of the safest cities in the nation. We will utilize all resources to maintain such safety standards," the department said in a statement.

The victim has not been identified. Charges are expected to follow after the suspect is arraigned.
