WARREN, Mich. (WXYZ) — Warren police say they have arrested a suspect in connection to the alleged kidnapping and sexual assault of a woman over the weekend.
According to police, a 23-year-old woman pulled into the TCF Bank on 12 Mile around 4:30 a.m. Saturday when she told police a man armed with a handgun got into her car and forced her to drive away.
The victim told police he took her to an address in Hazel Park where he sexually assaulted her, and then drove to several businesses where he used her ATM card.
Police say he then took her back to the 12 Mile and Dequindre area hours later where she called police.
Detectives began investigating and identified the suspect as 21-year-old Justice Denham of Warren. He was arrested on Monday and they found property taken from the victim. Detroit police later found her car.
Denham was arraigned on charges including kidnapping, carjacking, first degree criminal sexual conduct and felony firearm. He was given a $500,000 cash or surety bond.
