The man suspected in a series of Detroit assaults has been charged in connection with a Grosse Pointe Park attack.

Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy charged Darian Winfield, 18, with Assault with Intent to Murder.

Winfield is accused of attacking a 48-year-old woman on December 13 in the 1400 block of Cadieux in Grosse Pointe Park.

Winfield is currently in jail facing charges that stem from an incident on Dec. 30 where Winfield allegedly broke into a house in the 5800 block of Radnor and stabbed a 39-year-old Detroit woman with a knife in the chest.

It is believed he was intending on sexually assaulting her, but the victim fled on foot and called for help.

We're told he is also a person of interest regarding an assault on January 7 that led to the victim's death.
