We are waiting on word of a possible arraignment today for the handyman accused in a vicious Grosse Pointe Farms stabbing.

The victim, prestigious interior designer Dan Clancy, remains in critical condition.

We're told the man accused of stabbing him could face a judge for the first time Thursday.

The 49-year-old suspect was found at a hospital, we're told he was there for a heroin overdose. We're not releasing his name because he has not been formally charged.

Police say the suspect was a handyman who did work on Clancy's large property.

But after some work, the interior designer did not want him back.

Police Chief Daniel Jensen says they believe the handyman tried to rob, and then kill Clancy because he could identify him.

Clancy's property manager tells 7 Action News the suspect tried stealing items of value like cuff links, paintings and even a statue.
