Suspect ties up manager, robs Applebee's in Monroe County

FRENCHTOWN TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WXYZ) — The Monroe County Sheriff's Office is searching for a suspect who tied up a manager and robbed an Applebee's in Frenchtown Township this week.

According to deputies, the suspect confronted the restaurant manager when he was opening up for the day around 8 a.m. Tuesday. It happened at the restaurant along 2100 Telegraph Rd. near the Mall of Monroe.

Deputies say the suspect was wearing all dark clothing and a ski mask and had a handgun. He ordered the restaurant manager to open the safe.

The suspect then tied up the manager and took an unknown amount of money from the safe before fleeing. The manager was not injured.

Police are still investigating and anyone with information is asked to call Deputy Brian Sroka at 734-240-7717.
