Police are looking for a suspect that is wanted for a shooting that killed a 5-year-old girl and left her mother critically injured.

In September 2018, 5-year-old Izabella Coleman and her mother Dejiza Coleman were both shot as they slept in bed. The incident occurred on Lyndon Street near Evergreen on Detroit's west side.

An unknown man entered through the front door and walked to the bedroom where the mother and daughter were lying together in bed. The suspect then opened fire.

Before the tragedy, Dejiza worked at the Hartford Nursing Home in Detroit. She also had a son, 3-year-old Brayden.

Izabella is described as a mannerable girl who loved to collect rocks and create new things. She was a help to her mom when it came to caring for her little brother. She had been recently enrolled to start kindergarten, but will now never be allowed the chance.

Crime Stoppers of Michigan is offering a cash reward of up to $2,500 that leads to an arrest. If the tip that leads to an arrest is received by midnight Wednesday, $1,000 will be added to the reward, raising the total to $3,500.

Anyone with information is asked to make an anonymous call to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP.
