A 41-year-old Orion Township man is facing charges of disorderly conduct and malicious destruction of police property.

According to the Oakland County Sheriff's Office, multiple callers reported that a man who appeared to be intoxicated had been banging on several doors in the 1500 block of Tipton Street and making verbal threats.

Police say upon arrival, deputies located the man standing in the street yelling and creating a disturbance and making threatening comments to residents.

Paramedics checked his welfare, but he refused medical treatment. Witnesses said the man continued to consume some sort of alcoholic beverage until it was necessary to call 911 for assistance.

The man was arrested for disorderly conduct. Once seated in the pack of a patrol unit, he began to kick the rear door causing obvious damage to the vehicle.
