Suspected serial killer Deangelo Kenneth Martin arraigned on charges in assault of second woman

DETROIT (WXYZ) — A man suspected of being a serial killer has now been arraigned on charges of Kidnapping, Assault and Sexual Assault in a second case.

Deangelo Martin is appeared in court on the new charges Wednesday morning. Martin is accused of kidnapping, strangling and sexually assaulting a 51-year-old woman at around 1:00 a.m. on June 3 in a house on the city's east side.

He was remanded to jail without bond.

Martin has also been charged in connection with the May 7 stabbing and sexual assault of a 26-year-old Detroit woman on the city's east side. She did survive the attack.

He is due in Third Circuit Court for arraignment on 5 counts in that case on July 24.

The 34-year-old Martin is also a person of interest in a homicide investigation. The Wayne County Prosecutor's Office is reviewing a warrant request in that case.

However, it has not yet been decided if he will be charged under that warrant.
