DETROIT (WXYZ) — A man suspected by Detroit police of being a serial killer will stand trial in the stabbing and sexual assault of a Detroit woman.
Deangelo Kenneth Martin was bound over for trial on charges of Assault with Intent to Murder and Criminal Sexual Conduct First Degree following a Tuesday preliminary hearing.
Martin has been charged in connection with the May 7 stabbing and sexual assault of a 26-year-old Detroit woman on the city's east side. She did survive the attack.
He is due in Third Circuit Court for arraignment on the 5 coutns on July 23.
The 34-year-old Martin is also a person of interest in a homicide investigation. The Wayne County Prosecutor's Office is reviewing a warrant request in that case. However, it has not yet been decided if he will be charged under that warrant.
